How do you see the runway ahead when landing a long nosed taildragger like a Sopwith Camel or the Spirit of St. Louis? The first two landings (especially) in this video make it very clear. The Spirit--third landing--didn't even have a window in front, but as this replica demonstrates, that's no different than having a big engine up there. (There's a much better Spirit replica landing at 22:05 in the video.)
