Just got my Tailwheel Endorsement and BFR from Rob Galloway at Jones Bros last week. Hopefully, I
will pass my checkride for ASES in about 10 days with them. Looking forward to my first solo practice
in the pattern at Punta Gorda Airport tomorrow. Jones Bros aren't cheap, but Rob is fantastic, and
Tavares is a great place to fly seaplanes - plenty of gorgeous small lakes, and great small airports.

Congrats, Mike, and good luck on the solo and the checkride. Remember to WUFF--Wheels Up For Flying.

(The complete mantra is POP WUFF 70 WOW! That is, Power Out on takeoff, PUSH; a Searey just about can't stall above 70 mph; and Watch Out for Wires.)

Thanks! I'll try to remember POP WUFF 70 WOW.

Wayne, who do you use for annuals, etc.? I've got some issues, (tail wheel replacement, oil change, other stuff I'd rather someone
more knowledgeable look at) just left a message for Angel Rivera up in Apopka, anyone closer?

Jim Ratte (321-253-9434) "The Searey Specialist" from Valkaria is a Great Guy who helped me a lot when I updated my Classic. Jim
has an incredible Searey knowledge base & does beautiful work...The best Rotax guys I know are both located at Sebring - Lockwood
Aviation (863- 655-4242) / Shane Morris (Very familiar with Seareys 863-214-4754). For general quality airframe work at reasonable
prices, Jon Lowe at Sebring is another alternative - Also has Searey & Aventura experience (863-373-6856). Feel free to call me
(413-329-0995) if you have any questions.

Thanks very much for the info! I'm flying up to North Orlando from Punta Gorda on Monday - Angel Rivera will work on N123YT this
time, but it's great to have alternatives, especially closer to PGD.

Thanks for the invite, won't be ready for 11/10, I'll be looking for SPA emails for the next one! Did my first solo yesterday in the
pattern at Punta Gorda, 6 wheel landings.

6 WHEEL LANDINGS! You must have a Searey "Heavy"! :-)

Mike, contact Frank Carr. (Ft Myers). He just finished an annual at Page.

Thanks again Wayne! Although I'll stick with Angel for this work, Frank gave me another closer option for Searey work. I didn't mean
that my Searey had 6 wheels!!! LOL Another question - are the Sebring Lakes area the closest fresh water for us to land at? Have you
landed on the Caloosahatchee? Anything else?

Wayne Nagy - Nov 06,2018   Viewers  | Reply
East of the Franklin lock on the Caloosahatchee you have a fresh water runway for 40 miles. Then you have the big O . The big O can
get choppy on breezy days. Practice your water landings on your way to LaBelle ,then you can practice runway landings at the
uncontrolled X14. You also have a freshwater area north of Shell Creek above the spillway. Just be careful of the water Lillies . Ask
Frank about those. :-)

Thanks Wayne - hopefully I'll be trained up enough to meet you at the next local Splash-In.
