As an alum of Embry-Riddle University ('87) I receive these emails and found this little known story about JFK. With an interest of all things sea, (as I believe most of you do too), I have read many stories of JFK, especially those related to his life while at sea. I was amazed to discover that he went through seaplane flight training after returning from the war and further amazed that it was through Embry Riddle. As you look through the pictures, be sure to take note of the logbook entries. It reminds me of my dads flt training logbooks from 1940 of such remarks as "straight and level or glides", etc. One thought provoking entry is the spins! I've never done spins in a bird with pontoons hanging below me, but it is a Cub after all. On another note, as I write this, May 29, I noticed that it was 74 years to the day that he soloed. A lot of aviation history over those 74 years, from the Kennedy's and from my family as well.
