This April 3rd. will be the sixteenth year of the Annual Searey Gathering.
In December of 2014 I had a not so pleasant bone spar removed from my left shoulder.
For the first few months of 2015 the shoulder felt great and then in March I don't what I
did to it but it got so sore I had to ware a sling all the time. I knew trying to run the
gathering here was going be hard with the shoulder hurting so Adam and Kerry agreed
to fill in and hold the gathering at the shop "thanks guys".
This year we plan and holding the gathering like always here at Garner's Landing. Adam
has agreed to have the event cater so that will take a great deal of the work out of it for
Lou Ann and I. We look forward to having great weather this year and a big turn out.

Good to hear, Russ. Are any of you southeast, east, northeast folks thinking about flying down?

Don Maxwell - Feb 10,2016   Viewers  | Reply
Dennis, let's meet at KLRO on 2 April. Or at KJZI. Or someplace else you like better. Or on the 1st. Or earlier if the weather will be better.

There are a lot of stars that have to line up for me to go but work and long range tank are solved.

Good news, Russ! Glad you're feeling that much better.

Don the shoulder feels pretty good no more medical stuff hopefully for awhile. I promise I'll make your next fly-in now that my plane and I are running good. So, Carrol and you coming down?

Hopefully the weather for you is sunny and clear. My experience of the last two years, if the forecast for rain is more that 50%, The
Seareyers don't show up, even if it doesn't rain the entire day.

I'm thinking about flying down. If you decide to go maybe we can form a convoy of carolina based Seareys.

Garner's Landing SeaRey Gathering is like all other weekend fly-ins, it's all about the weather.
Bay News 9 is forecasting for next Sunday April 3, a 60 percent chance of rain from a weather system that's going
to move in to Florida over the weekend. Instead of waiting until the last minute, I thought I'd let everyone know
so they have time to change their plans. I have to make a decision by Thursday on renting and picking up tables
and chairs, the cater has to be reserved no later then Thursday also. I'll keep you posted but it's looking like it
the weather God's may be smacking us down.

We've decided to cancel this years fly-in, not wanting to take a chance on the weather.

Don Maxwell - Apr 01,2016   Viewers  | Reply
Bummer, Russ. I know how agonizing that decision is, but you probably made the right call. By now, Sunday looks clear enough there but uncomfortably windy and blowing right toward your beach.

Aww. Weather starting to look good for Sunday...

Another concern are winds following the cold front passage on Saturday. Aviationweather.gov currently forecasts 20 KT at 1200Z and
15 KT at 1800Z on Sunday. These do not include any gust factors.

Bill West - Apr 02,2016   Viewers  | Reply
Is the boycott over of Tavares? I haven't been there since Joey, Lauren, and Paul were let go for lack of airport mgt degrees.
Daniel, did I miss the memo?
