My son is heading south to fly the rey out of Vero Beach this week and was looking for fly in water food stops between Vero and Sarasota. . Interesting the places map is only on the tech site that I could find and devoid of recommendations in the southern part of the state.

Kevin and Bill- There is a restaurant called the Sunset Grille on the south shore of Lake Jackson that is just south of Sebring. I called them and they are open and seaplanes are welcome. I did not get there this trip but it is on my list of places to go. https://www.google.com/maps/@27.4722179,-81.4479909,16.02z
I also understand there is a restaurant on the field at Sebring Airport.

Lake Jackson is ideal for lunch. I was there about a month ago. As you approach the restaurant from the water, look to the left and you will see a sandy beach and shallow water that has a smooth sandy bottom. I recommend just beaching and tying up. I ate at the Sebring airport last Sunday for breakfast. Sebring also has Mogas self serve. Venice airport (just south of Sarasota, on the Gulf Coastline) has restaurant in the FBO. The breakfast is excellent. (Say Hello to Tony, the head cook). Enjoy!

Given the many Florida inland eating spots, both waterfront and land, I avoid the salt water in the intracoastals. Today will be yet another great SeaRey day in central Florida with 82F and light winds.

Aw, Bruce, you're just grousing because that Florida weather is so boring. You'd really like Virginia's more interesting flight conditions. Today, for example, it's 55 F, with 300 foot ceiling and 2 miles viz. That's real seaplane weather!

This Old, Not Bold pilot will take boring weather any day! Still, having to wear sunglasses all the time when outside becomes something of a burden. :>)

For my son's birthday today, he took me for the water skimming Searey ride. Absolutely beautiful weather!

Be strong. Frankly, I'm getting a bit tired of the challenge here. Today is yet another IFR day. The ceiling is way up at 200 feet, but the viz is 1/8 sm in fog, and it's still raining.

There are two good fly-in restaurants in the Winter Haven / Lake Wales area. The restaurant on the north shore of Lake Ashton just reopened and Harborside on the south shore of Lake Shipp also has a sandy shoreline. Both are very good.
