Does anybody know of restrictions for landing my Searey in the Fort Pierce inlet? I remember someone in past posts that had a citation for Vero Beach so wondered if the town of Fort Pierce has similar regulations. I wanted to park my rey at the hotel in the inlet overnight. Did not want to call the town as that usually opens up a whole ball of trouble.

I don't know of city restrictions in Ft Pierce, but that inlet has more law enforcement than anywhere else I know. City, county, state and federal officials will welcome you there. Be sure of their rules before you go. And the current runs pretty fast thru that inlet, changing direction at least once every night. I cant imagine leaving your plane in the water there.

Check out the thread on STS, Kevin (search for "Pierce", or "speeding ticket in SeaRey".

Thanks Bill and Dan- I had searched in dash but did not try sts where it was. I remember that one now but did not remember that it was Fort Pierce. . In light of both info I think i will land in the little canals leading into the channel and taxi to the hotel across it. Google Earth shows the canals deserted so no witnesses to landing. The hotel has a beach that I would pull up on but will have to figure the tide changes. Chuck and I had some fun with that in the Bahamas. If looks too rough I guess I will have to land at the airport- but what is the fun and challenge with that.

Kevin, I received the speeding ticket in the Fort Pierce inlet. It was dismissed because it was a Florida defined manatee zone and not a federally defined manatee zone.
