I e-mailed Kerry and Adam last year that I could not host a Fly-in this year because
of my loss of my business (I no longer own Drain Doctor Plumbers, I just work for them now)
and low donations the last two years, I don't mind suppling the venue, but the cost not covered
by donations without it being a business expense makes it to expensive for my budget.
I never got a response from them, I was hoping they would cater it.
My EAA chapter 534 which had attended all my fly-ins, told me they could supply hamburgers
and soda and cook like the do for other chapter events for donations. It would be an EAA
Chapter 534 event.
Their may not be the variety of food as in the past, but will fill your stomach. Door prizes will be
light if any but there will be a 50/50 drawing which would cover my expenses, otherwise all
donations go to the EAA chapter.
I don't know if most of you guys still want to come under these circumstances.
I need to let the EAA chapter know next month to put it on there calender.
It would be Sunday November 8 2015.
I'll let you discuss it here and gage from your response if I'll proceed.

So like what is the total cost to host something like this?

Between food and prizes about $600. but I tend to buy more food than used. I eat franks and beans and burgers for weeks. Donations were $400. early on to less than $200 on the last two.

Thomas - I expect to be there. I never came for the food or prizes. A slice of pizza or a burger and a can of no-name soda is fine
for me and I will happily pay more than before. Keep it simple.

Thomas - I haven't been to one yet, would like to, but as a suggestion, why not let the folks flying or driving in bring their own food? I know there must be enough space behind the seats for some well-contained vittles, with enough to share around. Maybe all you would need to supply would be drinks (soda, water), since that would be more difficult to carry in a plane. This would keep your costs way down, people could bring what they like, and make much less work for you.

    Thomas,
The fly-in I attended was great! It will be great with minimum amenities . Being a past EAA president , I am in favor of supporting
their efforts .We come because of the wonderful location and the great company. Everything else is a far second. Thank you for your
efforts in the past, Thomas.

Thomas, Your fly-ins have been great events and I hope they continue. You can serve p-nut butter sandwiches and we wud be
happy. We are there for a little quality Searey family time. I talk to a lot of Searey pilots on the radio while flying but only see
them at events like yours and Russ Garners. We appreciate your hospitality. I recall the weather was a factor at your last fly-in
wich led to the poor attendance and low revenue. Hope this year will be the best one ever
