This is what Michael has had to say from his blog site...
A couple of weeks back, I wasn't sure what to do next, but I've decided to keep going for a bit yet, so after this week of exploring the Scottish Highlands, I will return to London, reunite with Southern Sun and we'll fly to New York.
The trans Atlantic route in 1938 was from London by train to Southampton, then alighting in the Imperial Short C-class to Foynes (Limerick) Ireland, across the North Atlantic to Canada then down to New York. I don't have the range to do Ireland to Canada direct, plus I've always been keen to see a few islands in the North Atlantic, so finding a balance between History and modern day exploring, I have come up with this route.
London Southampton Foynes Faroe Islands Iceland Greenland Canada New York
I could do this in half the number of stops, but I'm keen to see this part of the world, and am allowing 2 days (1stop) in Iceland and 3 days (3 stops) across Greenland. Seeing UK weather for the last two weeks has also made me very conscious of how often there is low cloud, so I am aiming for 4-6 hour legs which will make weather windows more likely. Luckily it's getting dark at 10.30pm in UK, and will be around midnight across Iceland and Greenland opening up more possibilities.

I certainly hope when Michael arrived in the US there will be marching bands and dancing girls to greet him.

Don hope they don't have to stretch the tutus too much. Or I'll have to get Dave and Luis onto it.

Update Michael has left London and has flew to Shannon, Ireland yesterday. As for the marching band and dancing girls I'm thinking something more like this.

Hi Randy, have pasted Michael's reply below, he is certainly enjoying his time over in Iceland and Greenland. If anyone's got information regarding the flying boats in Port Washington please send me a email and forward it to Michael, or just post something here.
Thanks David,
Say thanks, but I'm most likely looking at Boston, as I have business there anyway.
I would love to hear any info about where the Flying Boats used to land in Port Washington Long Island?
I'm currently a couple of days behind my original schedule - but landing here in the middle of nowehere is so amazing I've stopped caring - even took my watch off, which is weird with the sun not going down....
Cheers

David, please let him know about Hammondsport, NY, where Glenn Curtiss flew the first practical seaplanes. It's a very small town, but picturesque, and there's a fine Glenn Curtiss museum. Hammondsport is pretty much right on his route to Oshkosh--if he's heading that way--and not too far off the route to Florida. Hammondsport is also where Dale Kramer, designer of the Lazair lives. He's on the museum board.
Also, if Michael will be heading down the east coast, he's more than welcome to stop here in eastern Virginia for gas or a chat or overnight. My phone is 804-543-7110. Email DonMaxwell@AbstractConcreteWorks.com. (Of course, there are lots of other Searey guys all along the coast, but they'll have to get their own dibs in. And there's the STS Member Map, too.)

Do you know if Michael is planning to stop in Shediac NB.? It is located on the shoreline east of Moncton and was a refueling stop for the PanAm Clippers in the 40's.

Michael has requested any information regarding the possibilities of landing in Manhasset Bay, the site where the Pan American flying boats used to take off. I have noticed that there is a seaplane base registered their Sands Point Seaplane Base. Has anyone got any local information other than what we've been able to Google.

I put a call in to (from airnav):
STEVE WACHTER BREWER CAPRI MARINA, 15 ORCHARD BEACH BLVD (owns the seaplane base) PORT WASHINGTON, NY 11050 Phone 516-883-7800
UPDATE: Sands point SPB is open. If Michael wants to dock there have him call call Steve Wachter (phone above) in advance. They have a dock that doesn't sound searey suitable, but they can moor him on a buoy - or he can help coordinate with the town park next door for possible beaching permission.
Also - if Michael needs a place to RON near NYC - I'm based at 39N Princeton, NJ (or north east PA if he's headed west) a short stones throw from NYC. My contact details are in STS member info.

Wow, look at it in GoogleEarth (40.837091, -73.716461):
There appear to be at least two ramps and the park has a terrific beach.

Hope the Americans are warming up the marching band and dancing girls? Michael has landed in Maine today July 21st 8:43 PM and looks like he will be heading to Manhasset Bay Long Island tomorrow. I have sent him an email asking for ETA will let you know as soon as I get a reply.

He's haulin' ass now! It's only one Searey day from there to OSH. (Long day, though. He'd be better off stopping somewhere on the way, to arrive fresh, especially if he's going to the main show instead of the SPB.)
That's the last of the long over-water legs unless he's heading for Hawaii.

Now that would make the news if Micheal showed up at the Oshkosh SB this week. I bet Adam and Kerry would make the most of and it would put to rest all the Icon hype. half way around the world in a Rotax power SeaRey home built. Now that is a EAA type story!

Michael has arrived at Manhasset Bay, spent approximately an hour there and now has landed at Westchester County airport. What a superhuman effort, I hope he gets to celebrate and style.

David, Michael is not a member of Splash and Dash, but I'll have the site send him another invitation, in case he's interested in it. In the meantime, he can read everything here (except member info) as a visitor, but can't post anything.
(But I suspect he's probably far too busy and focused otherwise.)
