KBOW has a new restaurant Pappy's Grill just opened. Pappy's is owned by Rod Hamlet and there is
one other location at KGIF. Open from 7am. to 2pm. 7 days a week. This is a nice FBO with all the
finery that our gov. dollars will buy. Bartow has three 5K runways 9L/9R 27L/27R , 5/23 it was a
military airbase during WWII. Tower is 121.2 TWR 121.9 GRD normal approach is Left down
wind runway 9L from the North, right down wind 9R from the South. From the N and S report 5
miles out, landmarks from the North are KGIF 8 miles and Eagle Lake just 1 mile from North of Left
down wind runwasy 9L. Joe Varner lives on the North end of Eagle Lake, fill free to buzz in house
"just kidding Joe."
Rods a big guy and believes his patrons should leave his restaurant with full bellies, he boast pancakes
big enough to feed three. I know Rod, he caters our QB dinners and I think this would be a great place
for a land based fly-in if that's even fun.
