Date Posted: Jul 12, 2008 Description: Richard proved to be well read, commenting on our local authors. “As I recall,” he said, “Marjorie Rawlings wrote ‘The Yearling’ about her Florida experiences.” Coincidentally we were flying over the very place she lived and wrote about: Cross Creek. It is a creek that connects these two lakes. Even more amazing than the coincidental comment is the observation that it hasn’t changed all that much since Ms. Rawlings wrote about it.
