Well, it's not waterfront but, for any of you guys tooling around in central North Carolina, Barbara and I ate at a really good BBQ place yesterday. Some of the best BBQ and home cooked veggies that I've had. It's the Pic-N-Pig at Gilliam - McConnell Airfield (5NC3), a private 2500 paved strip north of Pine Hurst, NC (about an hour Searey flight time from Lake Norman). You can also use the turf on the NE side of the paved strip. You can taxi right up the the front of the resturant. Place was full of locals and pilots at lunch time yesterday. Get the pulled pork plate with black eyed peas (cooked with ham) and homemade apple sauce. $5.95 plus your drink. Slap bone good!! Set there and watch the planes take off and land while your bird sits right outside on the turf.

That sounds a lot better than the deal I just got while on vacation. I took my aunt and uncle out for dinner, I knew I was in trouble when the menu had no prices, they add on an automatic gratuity of 15% on to the bill and it was $165 alone! so you can figure what the meal (and cocktails) cost. Oh well like Martha says 'but honey look at the money spend on planes and things.'

Thanks for the report, Dennis.<br />That's where I was headed the day I crunched my landing gear - I never made it that day and havent had a chance to check it out since.

Do you have something you can fly to Laney's? Maybe we can meet there one morning and fly over there in Sammie.
