I hope it is not real. I have a friend in Missouri whose Facebook account was hacked and suddenly his friends started getting
death notifications. Perhaps this is what is happening

Naw, it's a hack. I received an email from Facebook this morning, saying that a Glastar builder near here had sent me a Facebook Message. Well, I never use FB messenger (and rarely look at Facebook) but I knew the guy and clicked on the email--and zzzzzt!--it was too late. Sorry!

It IS scary, Kev--but it isn't a new phenomenon. When Mark Twain "got hacked" similarly by the tabloid press, he told a reporter, “The report of my death is an exaggeration.”

(But it's hard to trust anybody, and that incident has often been misrepresented. Apparently Twain did NOT cable New York from London, "Reports [or rumors] of my death have been greatly exaggerated." See #23 in the link.)
