Hey Dave, how much faster is the Titan than the Searey?

Too fast !! Yesterday Dave K...Sharen and I did 1:35 in a loose formation. Sharen kept forgetting , that when she was lead, you have to adjust to the rest of the formation.Dave and I spent 1/2 the time at red line...just to catch up. The nagging didn't seem to faze her. We'll work on it.
She likes to cruise at 80 to 85 mph. Dave and I stooge around at 75.

Dave E., Dave L. asked a good question, but the situation is more complicated than it suggests. Your SeaRey has 80 hp, right? Sharen's Titan probably has 80 hp, too. But SeaReys with 100 or 115 hp engines cruise comfortably at 85-90. Dave K.'s Stork, on the other hand, climbs about as fast as it cruises, no matter what engine it has. (What a sufficiency of Daves!)

I guess the Titan is less 'dragie'....I know that the wake turbulence behind the Titan is about 1/3 of what it is behind the Storch.
Maybe Sharen can add a comment about her speeds next time she is on-site.

My Titan Tornado has a 582 Rotax engine which is rated at 65
HP. I delightfully cruise at 85-100mph. VNE is 130mph. With
an all metal, robust airframe, aerodynamically it is a very clean,
low drag airplane. It's very agile, very maneauverable, with great
visibility and it's easy to land. Unfortunately, it will only land on
the water once! (g)

Thanks, Sharen. It's a beautiful airplane. About water landings--you could add floats...
