So that's where crop circles come from.

Video? How are the circles done?

It would take guts to power slide a searey over that much surface unless you were very sure what was below.
I would love to see the video from inside and outside the plane!

What a great shot! I'd really like to see the uncropped original. It probably isn't nearly as dramatic as this one, but it would be so interesting to see all of the impressions in the snow and the general lay of the land, to know what he had to overcome to get this shot of that clock dial (with one more puff-and-go to do, to get the full 12 hours).

Thanks Guys! Unfortunately I only had my iPhone, so no real video other than this 2 second burst. Sorry! We had just got 8 inches of powder snow the night before, so we had great conditions for belly landings. The first few were just like glassy water landings. Hard to judge depth and hard to tell when you had touched down, very smooth with little drag. It was surreal, another fantastic Searey adventure! We have to find something fun to amuse ourselves during these long cold winters.      Attachments:

Wow! What about takeoffs? Did you do touch and goes?

The straight lines were done via touch and go. The spiral was land, zoom around and around on step taxi then take off. We never came to a complete stop, not knowing how far the plane might tilt sideways in the snow. It may not have been a problem, but that will have to wait for another adventure!

Pretty awesome Al and Chuck. Your landing tracks are a LOT straighter than mine would have been! And the spirals are pure
geometry!

Very very cool, something else to add to the bucket list.

I thought you had already tried that, David. Be carefull

That looks like some seriously good flying. I can't imagine doing that without ripping both floats off thr plane.
