Description: You Florida guys just don't know how good you've got it down there! It was
exceptionally warm today, considering that it's January. So I decided to dig
out and go for a flight. At least the bay's not stiff yet! But it was a beautiful
day for flying.

Dennis, that's the way it's supposed to look outdoors in January.

Nice looking day and bay Dennis. Define ""exceptionally warm""?

Dennis Vogan - Jan 04,2017   Viewers  | Reply
Frank, it was on the 'plus' side of zero!

And did your really need to ""dig"" out Dennis, or is that just a common term in your winters?

Dennis Vogan - Jan 05,2017   Viewers  | Reply
I did indeed dig! The plough will only go so close to the hangar door so the rest of it gets cleared
manually. Here's what it looks like as we speak (this is after a few 'warm' days melting lots of snow):

No, she's the noisy one. This is the one:      Attachments:

Don, this is Canada where Seareys burn 17 LPH!
C!

Hmpf. Zero Centigrade, then. Sorry, Dennis--not impressive.

Zero Fahrenheit, on the other hand is more likely to get a little sympathy from us down here in the Unscientific States of America, where ""below zero"" is actually starting to get chilly, at about -18 C.

Fortunately, however, right now it's 275 K here, on the banks of the James River, and I'm going flying.

Well, I didn't get up yesterday after all (dead battery), and today--well, here's how it looks now that the snow has let up:

    In January, anything above freezing.
Actually, anything above 0 deg F is nice.

Nice Picture...it would be a cold swim back to shore!
