Lindsay, Buck, and I did a flyover of the Lively, Virginia, Christmas parade a couple of weeks ago. It was cold and windy, and there were the usual camera problems and a landing gear alert glitch, but in the end it all went fine (except that my Seaarey is temporarily grounded). This is the video. (It's actually the revised video, with one brief scene removed.)      Attachments:

    Your best video yet!!🤗
Your hat cam nicely captured the formation flying. I have struggled to do that with my GoPro/Contour setup. Their 170' coverage
make the other acft too far away failing to capture the sense of closeness of formation flying. I especially like the narrative, photo
cut ins, zooming in effects. Nicely done. You have set another standard.
As for the gear sensor, I have. A couple spare ones from my recent repair effort that I could mail you.

Thanks, Rob. At first I thought it was just a maladjusted microswitch, but the last landing suggested something heavier. It turned out that an actuator was going bad. Out for repair now. The story is on STS: http://searey.us/sts/?News&p=77SG1AHUN

There's probably a bit too much of the special effects in the video, but I found out how to do a couple of things in FinalCut that I hadn't tried before, and maybe they were too much fun. What looks like zooming is digital cropping done during the editing, not in the camera, so the resolution degrades as you zoom in.

If anyone wants to see that cut shot, maybe we could post it on STS.

We had a loose plan to fly the Lively Christmas parade again this year--2017. Alas, we woke up this morning to 1 mile and 200 feet, with light snow. A few minutes ago a flight of four ducks passed overhead, scud-running, the only flyers I've seen all day. Better luck next year!      Attachments:

We use the new invisible ice over here, Jeff. Maybe it isn't available yet up in the Shenandoah Valley where you are. Also, it was a chilly, blustery day, and getting close to sunset.
